Nokia to launch its new versions of smartphones

Nokia has stated in its website that it is planning to release the Nokia C6, E5, and C3 smart phones in the US markets. The tentative price range has also been released and it is as follows: The E5 for $129, the C6 S60 powered phones for $259 and the C3 phones for $309. Though the phones can be preordered the shipping dates are not given. Nokia has decided to jump aggressively into the Smartphone segment and if market estimates from Research firm Strategy Analytics are to be believed the global market of smart phones has increased by 43 percent. According to the market analysts the share of Nokia’s Smartphone has increased by 40 % and a unit sales of 24 million pieces in the second quarter.
Heads starts to roll in the top echelons of Nokia management

The axe which was expected to fall for some time has started to find its victims and the first is in the form of the imminent removal of the Chief Executive of the company Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo who has ousted due to the disastrous performance of Nokia in the Smartphone segment against players like Apple and Google. If rumors are to be believed, the company has just interviewed two executives from the US who are believed to have been considered for the job. The reshuffle and shuffling is being resorted the company still struggles to find a place in the innovative and new market of smart phones from Apple or Android devices from Google.
Rising in the primary segment but loosing hold in the Smartphone sector

All is not well with the communication Giant Nokia. Its second quarter profit has been dropping and was 40%. The company is pulling out all the plugs to stand firm in an increasingly fierce and competitive world of smart phones. There are talks that the top executive of the company may be in the process of losing his job. The Finland based company said that its profits have nosedived from $490 million to $290 million this month. Sales showed a trifle better performance and rose from $7.7 billion to $7.8 billion. The sales in the April to June were 111.1 million devices and saw a growth of 8 percent. Nokia has maintained its giant share in the global mobile market but the pressure in the Smartphone segment is intense with new players like Apple, BlackBerry maker Research in Motion and Android developer Google chipping away in its share of market.
