Nokia to release the X3 Touch and Type

Nokia is to release the X3 Touch and Type, a slim phone with a touch screen display and a 12-button keypad, in September with a price tag of $160. The Finland-based company said that the new X3, is much akin to the original X3 released the previous year and features new and improved 2.4-inch touch screen display, more powerful 5.0-megapixel camera and upgraded 3.5G and Wi-Fi connectivity. It gives the consumers the best of both worlds by combining a touch screen and a keypad in an affordable device.

Nokia obtains a majority stake in mobile analytics firm Motally

Nokia today proclaimed that it has obtained a majority stake in mobile analytics firm Motally, with the aim of improving its software contributions to developers. Nokia said that the deal undrlines its attempt to get better mobile web browsing analytics for software developers. Motally assists software developers get better their application development and improved understanding of consumers using analytics services. Details of the financial acquisition has not been revealed. Nokia has locked horns with Apple and Google to develop mobile software, which is more and more important in the mobile phone market. Its purchase of Motally, is Nokia’s most recent move in making the company aggressive in an increasingly crowded field.
